We are pleased to announce that we have started a Scholarship fund in honor of our Founder, Father & friend, John PrenticeRosser. He and his partner opened R&N Motor Company in 1958 and the business is still serving the community today.Rosserwas instrumental in hiring and teaching many of our local Auto Mechanics in Lee County.
loved working on cars and trucks and fabricating items just for the challenge. He built his own wreckers and with his ingenuity, fabricated the first 3 axle camper in North Carolina that we know of out of two vehicles he joined together. He taught the Auto Tech program at what is now known asCCCCwhere he instructed many students in rebuilding transmissions and the like. He was a hands - on kind of guy, dismissing the books for his preferred teaching method.
It is this spirit that we feel all potential Technicians should strive to develop. This scholarship will be available to a qualifying High School graduate with a qualifying grade point average who would like to pursue a career in Auto Repair.
R&N Motor Company wants to help students realize that a career as a “Mechanic” does not mean being a grease jockey anymore, but means becoming a “Technician”, using hi-tech equipment and possessing critical thinking skills to diagnose complex technology and problems, and that the automotive field offers a career path with ample opportunities for growth.”
