First week of May, my 2006 Subaru Tribeca, 185K miles would not start. Major engine electrical/computer fault. Neither Subaru dealer in Fayetteville nor Cary wanted to diagnose/repair. Cary dealer "offered" to diagnose (at $175/hour - minimum 2 hours) but indicated the "parts are hard to get" and did not have a mechanic on staff trained for a "car that old". Contacted Ryan at R&N who made an appointment for 17 June. Car delivered to R&N at 10AM. I had little hope of car being repaired and if so, assumed between $3-4K. Ryan called me at 2PM to inform me that his mechanic had car running - diagnosis was a broken/faulty engine ground wire - simple. I had already told him to do major engine tune up/oil & filter change/belts/etc., if car would start/run. He determined that serpentine belt did not need changing, but did the oil/filters change out, replaced leaking power steering hose and replaced two leaking/missing vacuum hoses. The car runs like new. Ryan told me he did not want to do a major tune up until I had driven car for 5K miles (until next oil change) in order to determine if there was anything else that needed attention. R&N did all the work for just over the amount that the "dealership" had quoted for a basic diagnosis - amazing. Finding trustworthy, honest mechanics is difficult. The entire team at R&N is certainly that - and more. I am grateful and pleased. From now on - R&N will be the only shop that works on/repairs my cars. Highly recommend.
Thank you for your wonderful review James. Glad we could get your Subaru back on the road for you. Looking forward to our new friendship.
