There were two things that I brought my truck in to have looked at. They did repair one of the items, and spent some time examining many other areas looking for problems. They offered to fix several other problems that were minor that they uncovered, but failed to address the major issue of intermittent loss of oil pressure. It turned out that I was at least 4 qts low on oil. They drove it for 20 miles and turned it back over to me with little oil in the engine.
The vehicle was brought in with the Check Engine light on and has been scanned elsewhere with several transmission codes present.for us to diagnose. The trans was 3 qts low in fluid. We ALWAYS check all the basic fluids ( oil, antifreeze, trans fluid)before a road test, filled the trans and drove the vehicle at length with no shifting problems. Rear trans seal was repaired but several other leak repairs were declined. The engine oil was checked during our evaluation sheet and was found fine. The oil pressure light never came on during the road test. An oil pressure issue was never brought up by the customer during my phone conversation. I would be happy to perform an oil pressure test on the truck for free.
